My strength is not my own.

It is entrusted to me for the good of others.

I will answer for how it is used.

I bind myself to truth.

Not when it is easy.

Not when it is convenient.

But when it costs me comfort, pride, or outcome.

I will keep my word.

To my wife.

To my children.

In public and in private.

When no one is watching.

When breaking it would be easier.

I do not trade honor for outcome.

I do not excuse drift.

I do not justify silence.

I do not turn away from duty.

My authority will be ordered.

My presence will be constant.

My access will be controlled.

My freedom will exist inside law.

I accept correction.

I allow interruption.

I submit to discipline so I may lead with clarity.

I will not lead from ego.

I will not govern from fear.

I will not retreat when responsibility is heavy.

My children are always watching.

What I tolerate becomes their standard.

What I practice becomes their pattern.

I fight because I am bound.

Bound to my word.

Bound to my post.

Bound to the legacy formed by my daily conduct.

If I fall, I will rise without deceit.

If I fail, I will answer without excuse.

If I drift, I will correct it without delay.

Let my children never question where I stood.

Let them be able to say this of me:

He stood his ground.

He kept his word.

He did not turn aside.
